| On
October 9, 1930 a group of eleven men were invited by Dr. Harry R.
Wahl to a dinner at his home. After a delightful dinner, Dr. Wahl
announced the purpose of the meeting and read all of the correspondence
relative to the organization of an Alpha of Kansas Chapter of the
Alpha Omega Alpha. The proposal was explained by Dr. Wahl and discussed
by everybody present. A petition asking that a charter be granted
was signed by Harry R. Wahl, Dr. Merwin T. Sudler, Dr. O.O. Stoland,
Dr. Ralph I. Canuteson, Dr. Carl R. Ferris, Dr. Robert T. Gants, Dr.
Joseph L. Johnston, Dr. Wilfred C. Curphey, Dr. Clarence A. Gripkey,
Dr. Isadore Goldberg, Mr. Harry B. Levey, and Mr. L. Lynden Woodfin.
Two of the men selected for charter members (Dr. Curphey and Dr. Goldberg)
could not be present at the meeting. With Dean Wahl acting as chairman
the following officers were elected. (The faculty members did not
vote). |
