Vanderbilt University School of Medicine Partnerships in Dental Health Program at Shade Tree Family Clinic

With support from Alpha Omega Alpha, The American Dental Foundation Samuel Harriss Grant, and Vamos, the Shade Tree Family Clinic provides free dental services to the Nashville community. The Partnerships in Dental Health Program provides the following services:

1. Preventive dental health education in the community
2. Pediatric dental hygiene visits
3. Dental services for vulnerable adults
4. Training of the next generation of physicians in oral health

Looking forward: In the next year we hope to continue to expand our dental services program, continuing the current initiatives as well as initiating more training efforts so that all patients have access to dental health promotion, education, and information. We will continue to assist our patients in accessing affordable dental care through advocacy and assistance with funding on a case-by-case basis, with special focus on our pediatric patients and vulnerable adults. In the long-term, we continue to look towards a new building that would allow us to provide dental care on-site.
